I've been using these prouducts (skincare, makeu, health and office) not only this month but all summer long. I deffinetly need to share this with you.
1. RMS Beauty Signature Set color POP Collection. How lucky to feel when all your favorite products come in one simple and practical pallette. I have everything I need for eyes, face and lips. Coconut based, they are pigmented and a little goes a long way. Easy to use and a perfect fit in my bag.
2. Silk eye mask from mellymoon.no Since I discover the luxury to sleep on a silk pillow case, now I really enjoy the benefit of the silk on my eyes, too. It is fantastic for two reasons: is anti-aging and helps you fall asleep better end deeper. Win, win, when you are a tired mom and you are checking all the time baby monitor.
3. Anti-ageing serum from REN Keep Young and Beautiful. I love this serum because you can apply it under your cream and on top of your makeup for an instant lift. Do not rub into your skin, just pat gently. Amazing results.
4.Coconut Carbon natural teeth whitener from scandinaviansmile.no. Wow this is a real game changer if you want a natural way to make your teeth whiter. A black powder that makes your teeth whiter? Yes, this is true and I was impressed how my teeth got whiter in a week.
5.Productive Planner. To get more from your day, to stay focus and organized, this is the best planner I had ever tried.
6. Shiseido Benefiance Pure Retinol Sheet Mask. You know how I love mask, taking extra care of my skin is making a real difference when you are over 30. This is a pure retinol mask that plumps the skin with essential ingredients our skin can't produce at the same level, it provides moisture and make your skin glowing.
Have you tried one of these? I would love to know in your comment!
I am all about minimalism since 2015! Before I became a mom, I realized that having less stuff around me gives me plenty of time to spend with my daughter Iulia and my family and to really appreciate the important things in life.
So when it comes to my skincare formulas, what I eat, and how I live, I believe that LESS IS MORE. But as total beauty junkie as I was before, it’s admittedly difficult to apply this philosophy to my beauty routine! If you’re anything like (the old) me, your beauty drawer is currently housing: five moisturizers, three bronzers, seven mascaras (ah, free samples get us every time), and literally…ONE THOUSAND eye shadows and eye liners. It’s not good…just not good at all. So today, I’m giving you my personal tips on how to easily MINIMIZE your beauty routine. With these tips, I truly believe you’ll be able to invite more clean and quality products into your life, and easily toss out the "junk".
Step 1: Colect and Sort
The first step was to gather, collect and sort every last makeup item I owned and used. I found it easiest to dump it out and go through it on a solid, clean surface. Two important questions I ask myself before I start to select and toss.
These are important things to establish early on. It was time to say farewell to anything that was outdated or never being used. Go trough everything and toss what you don't wear and don't love. Try the shades out to make sure that you like them out on you rather than just in the packaging. Be very critical, because now is time to keep only your favorite cosmetics and the products that work for you.
Step 2: Organize
Find a simple, beautiful organizer that will make it easy for you to find exactly what you need, when you need it. I love using acrylic organizers for my makeup because they are extremely simple to keep clean. They allow me to keep makeup divided by type, and everything is nice and easy to see and access. It is a time saver in the busy mornings. I quit long time ago to keep my cosmetics in a beauty bag.
Step 3: Know your stuff
Using my phone, I quickly snapped a photo of the name/brand/color of each of my favorite cosmetic items. I then added the photos to a special album on my phone's camera roll titled Makeup Details. So many times I have been out shopping and become overwhelmed with the choices and have a hard time recalling my favorite colors and shades. Or, I forget to write down the specific type and see it on sale. By saving all of the details on my phone in a single image, I will always have access to my favs and be prepared come shopping day.
Step 4: Mark your cosmetics
When I was sorting, I didn't know when most of the items were purchased to know if they were expired or not. It was just a guessing game that I wanted to prevent next time around. I added a marker to my makeup drawer which now allows me to mark any new makeup with the purchase date.
Step 5: Find a favourite brand
Find one brand that you love for each of your beauty products. Why have more than one go-to eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow palette, or sunscreen? If you’re having success with a specific product, stick to it.
Step 6: Get versatile!
Find ways to make your products multi-functional…get creative! For example, use cream blush as a lipstick or use your bronzer as a natural eye shadow! And like me, if you don’t use it already, coconut oil is a beauty 'must have'. I use it as a moisturizer, makeup remover, hair mask, body lotion and even teeth whitening.
Step 7: Learn to toss it!
I know…you saved the best (and hardest) for last. Do NOT use expired makeup or any product that looks like it may be going bad or smells funny. Some products, like powder-based makeup, can be used for around two years, but liquid mascara and eyeliner should be discarded after two or three months!
(PS: if you haven’t used something in six months, get rid of it! You probably don’t need it and won’t use it, no matter how many times you tell yourself that you will).
So tell me, sweet ladies, did you find this post helpful?
Do you have any other methods to keep clean, minimal and organized your beauty drawer?
I would love to hear what you are doing to keep it simple with your makeup stuff every day.
With love, Cosmina
